Glasgow Startup Weekend 05/2012
Friday, May 25, 2012 at 6:00 PM - Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 10:00 PM (BST)
Glasgow, United Kingdom
Startup Weekend comes to Scotland for the first time from 25-27 May 2012, challenging Scotland’s entrepreneurs to create, develop and launch a startup in just 54 hours.
Anyone with a business idea is invited to come along and pitch on the Friday night, with the top ideas selected and invited to go forward. People from technical and non technical backgrounds including entrepreneurs, managers, marketers, graphic designers, lawyers and developers are welcome to take part.
Hosted in the Entrepreneurial Spark accelerator space and organised by Michael Hayes of Scottish tech startup blog RookieOven and Allan Lloyds founder of Insight Arcade, Startup Weekend Glasgow aims to bring the best talent in the Scottish entrepreneurial community together to develop some truly innovative products.
Your ticket will get you entry to Startup Weekend Glasgow (obviously) as well as food, snacks and enough coffee to fuel your coding through the night. The venue is going to be open throughout the entire weekend for attendees to work on their products through the night.
Refund Policy: No refunds will be granted within 7 days of the event if food and drink have already been ordered. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
About Startup Weekend: Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations. Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. All teams hear talks by industry leaders and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurials. The weekend is centered around action, innovation, and education. Whether you are looking for feedback on a idea, a co-founder, specific skill sets, or a team to help you execute, Startup Weekends are the perfect environment in which to test your idea and take the first steps towards launching your own startup.
