The Green Living Workshop covers the following topics, one per week:

Water  |  Energy  |  Waste  |  Chemicals  |  Transportation  |  Shopping & Food

We spend time each week learning about the problems related to each of the above topics on a global, national and local scale. Then with the help of the WorksBook, a comprehensive sustainability primer that all participants receive, we review ten related solutions. Workshop participants will gather into small discussion groups each week to share the solutions they implemented from the previous week and have a chance to be voted the "Green Leader" of the week and win a resource saving tool.  We will also have weekly raffle drawings for big prizes like, Rain Barrels and Compost Bins.

All participants who attend all 6 meetings and complete the Sustainability Survey will have their name entered into a raffle to win

1. A personal, real-time, g-Meter, smart meter (a $499 value) and a 1-year free subscription to access their g-Meter account (a $131 value) donated by Energtech Experts.  The smart meter monitors the energy use in a home or business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from a consumer's personal computer or mobile device that has internet access.

2. A Cyber Rain 8 zone XCI Cloud - an irrigation control sprinkler system with a brain. It reduces landscape water usage by 30-70% by automatically adjusting for local weather conditions, eliminating run-off and ensuring that plants receive only the water they need. . (a $800 value)

The 6 week workshop is FREE to residents of Council Districts 5 & 11
