Nature Cape Ann – just an hour’s drive outside of Boston – is quintessential coastal New England. It offers something for every type of photographer--the nature lover, the coastline and beach enthusiast, the boat and marine life aficionado, the history buff, or seeker of quaint villages with winding streets. The landscape of pink- and peach-hued rocks and evergreens is further adorned with stunning flower gardens, inspiring artists and photographers for generations. This 3-day adventure will include shoots in the delicate early morning light through late morning and again in the afternoon until the last afterglow following sunset has faded. We will shoot the rugged, craggy coastline with its multiple coves and inlets, picturesque fishing boats, lobster shacks, lighthouses, and historic granite pier, among other photo ops. The spring flowers that grace public spaces and private gardens in lush abundance will be at their peak and begging to be photographed. A special feature will be a sunset cruise in calm waters on a 90 foot vessel, in order to shoot the shoreline, historic harbor, lighthouses and sea birds, among other photo opportunities.
The Safari is led by instructor and fine-art/nature photographer Judy Reisman and Judith Monteferrante, a fine art photographer and part-time resident of Gloucester, where The Perfect Storm was filmed.
We will be based in the uber-quaint town of Rockport, which you will have time to explore as well. Fee includes Safari instruction, orientation materials, and local transportation.
Fee: Offered Friday May 12 through Sunday, May 14, $395 per person.
