Event Details

The Needemann Brothers (Anthony Bollotta and Jorge Luis Abreu with the uber-talented Rayme Sciaroni) are back for a special Valentine's Day celebration. The Needemann Brothers have been become San Diego favorites in the past year. Their funny, sometimes moving, tune-filled show has been performed for mixed audiences to rave reviews. This is the first time they will be headlining an event at Schroeder's created for a gay/lesbian audience. Bring your partner for a fun, romantic evening out! Bollotta and Abreu, in their Needemann Brothers personas, will bring to life the Great American Songbook standards, Broadway favorites and some surprises. Through song and banter, they explore the basis and beginnings of their friendship, their trials and tribulations from childhood to adulthood. Auditions, musicals and boyfriends. Life, love and the pursuit of great clothes. JORGE LUIS ABREU is best known for his guest television appearances on Friends, Seinfeld, Third Rock from the Sun, Mad T.V., Judging Amy and ER, to name, well, a few. He was a series regular on the short-lived, but very funny House of Buggin’ with John Leguizamo, and has appeared in feature films with Bob Hoskins, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Tim Curry. Jorge’s theatre credits include national tours of My One and Only, and Good Times are Killing me, as well as performances at Washington DC’s famed Arena Stage in Tartuffe, Taming of the Shrew and Women and Water. ANTHONY BOLLOTTA's theatrical credits include such roles as Roscoe Dexter in Singin In The Rain; Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun; Fyedka in Fiddler On The Roof; and the Pirate King in Pirates Of Penzance. He spent several years headlining in a three-man musical-comedy act known as The Hooligans on-board the RCCL fleet of ships, as well as appearing in regional commercials. In 1994, Anthony parlayed his theatre experience into Bollotta Entertainment, a west coast based event entertainment production and booking company. Finding a niche in custom theatrical presentations and production, Anthony has developed, written, directed, produced and performed in shows for clients including Dow Chemical (with Shirley Jones), The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club (with Nell Carter), Jiffy Lube, GE Edison, and California State Senator Christine Kehoe. Musical director/accompanist RAYME SCIARONI is a composer and one of the premier pianist/accompanists in San Diego. Rayme has written numerous theatre and cabaret songs that have been performed throughout the country as well as a large repertoire of children’s songs and musicals. His work incudes a children’s musical screenplay entitled We’re Kids and We Love It! An interesting note is that Rayme is from Todd Schroeder’s hometown and was one of Todd’s mentors on the piano.

Schroeder's is patterned after the cabaret clubs in New York, LA and San Francisco and has a comfortable, inviting ambiance complete with professional lighting and sound, a baby grand piano and candlelit tables. Schroeder's showcases the vocalists and the accompanist in a unique and intimate setting in the tradition of the cabarets and nightclubs popular in the 1920s - 1960s. Food and drinks are available in the Westin Sports Bar before and after the performance. Past performers have included Andrea Marcovicci, Sam Harris and Maude Maggart as well as local performers including Leigh Scarritt, Danielle Forsgren, Rayme Sciaroni, Eileen Bowman & Ric Henry, Phil Johnson, Debra Wanger, Bettina "Pixie" Warren, Melinda Gilb & Steve Gunderson, and Ole Kittleson and Priscilla Allen to name a few.
