Event Details
Join Naturalists and Jefferson County Park Rangers for this outdoor wintry adventure. Bundle up for a one mile hike through the preserve while you learn about winter weather, cold weather adaptations, safety and much more. Program best suited for children ages 6-12, however all are welcome.
Most of this program will be outdoors on potentially snowy/muddy trails. Activities may also involve hiking off-trail. Please dress accordingly, including warm winter jackets, hats and gloves, snow pants, snow or warm hiking boots, warm socks, etc.
If you would like to register a group of families, please have each family register separately. Please limit your registration to no more than 2 adults per family.
Registration for this program opens at 9:00 AM one month before the date of the program. If you are registering during this time, but space is no longer available, please call Lookout Mountain Nature Center at 720-497-7600 to be placed on a waiting list.

Connect with nature at this 110 acre park. Inside experience exhibits that depict migrating birds and reveal secrets of the ponderosa pine forest. Visit the Discovery Corner and Observation Room. Outside stroll trails winding through forest and meadow, picnic beneath towering pine trees or join a naturalist-guided program.
The Lookout Mountain Nature Center creates awareness, understanding, and conservation of Jefferson County's open spaces through year-round educational programs and exhibits.
