The 2011-12 Director's Institute is open to program directors working in early care and education facilities located in Osceola County

Registration and $20.00 Professional Development Fee Required

Directors will receive one (1) CEU upon successful completion of the 2011-12 Director's Institute 

Please join us for this two-day high impact training provided by Quality Assist, a national early childhood training and consulting company from Atlanta, Georgia.

As early childhood program leadership has struggled to support the growth of experienced and inexperienced teachers while still meeting performance standards and producing child outcomes, they have come to realize that training alone is not enough. Teachers need opportunities to test and revise new knowledge with encouragement and support. This raises the question: What does a program leader need to know and be able to do? How do directors incorporate these skills into their practice to maximize quality improvement? The 2011-12 Director's Institute will provide an introduction to the competencies needed for highly skilled leadership. 

Program directors will:

§  Be introduced to the dynamics of change and considerations for supporting others through the process of change

§  Explore the nature of supervisor-teacher relationships and the dividends achieved through trust

§  Identify and practice competencies such as: powerful questioning, listening objectively and reflective practice

§  Practice how to set goals to achieve sustainable results

§  Learn the secrets of creating a resilient organization. 

The two-day 2011-12 Director's Institute will be followed by 5 monthly one-hour online virtual sessions. Virtual sessions will include topics such as linking staff development to ERS data.
