501(c)(3) Tax Exemption:
Now That You've Got It, How Do You Keep It?

A seminar for organizations that have received recognition of income tax exemption from the IRS but are still unsure of all the legal requirements imposed on public charities. This seminar will review the on-going reporting requirements for public charities, provide an overview of lobbying and political activity restrictions, and more. The presentation will particularly focus on the new Form 990 and other recent developments, including the elimination of the advance ruling period for new public charities.

Presenter:  Steven R. Meier, a partner in Jenner & Block's Chicago office. He is a member of the Firm's Tax, Association, Real Estate Securities, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Tax Controversy Practices. Mr. Meier's practice includes significant experience in counseling tax exempt organizations such as public charities, private foundations and trade associations regarding tax and business matters.
