Poetry Writing: The Sweet Ecology of Manuscripts
Dates: Feb. 23 - 24, 2009
Instructor: Judyth Hill
Location: San Miguel de Allende
Poetry manuscripts call for the same lively, passionate crafting as poems… It’s The Sweet Ecology of Manuscript. They need our diligent and tender shaping, balance, resonance and assonance.
In this workshop, we’ll converse deliciously on various ways to:
-
order
flesh out
blend those poems you've written
In addition we'll discuss :
-
broadsheets
handmade books
chapbooks
collage and paint
selection poems for a reading
query letters
preparing and creating books for the marketplace or as gifts
It’s a big world out there, longing for your beauty, your signature and song…
Finally we'll explore:
-
finding the perfect publisher
self-publishing possibilities
how to stand up with your own work & love it aloud (allowed!!!)
taking your profound joy on stage
wing your words into celebration!
Joy is the voice.
-- E. E. Cummings
So, please, bring your questions, and your collections….and let’s have so much fun together – poets are the great praisers and lovemakers of the world!
