The Commuter Connection & One on
One Bicycle Studio are offering one-hour lunch and learn sessions on how to bike
safely and comfortably through the winter.
Most winter commuters agree on the basics, such layering for warmth, protecting your extremities, riding with a good light and the importance of extra bike maintenance, but the challenge is in the details. Which layers? How much lighting? What is the best footwear? Do I need a special winter bike? The list goes on and the more extreme the conditions you intend to ride in, the more likely you will have widely differing views on the best method for dealing with those conditions.
Our goal is to get you started. We’ll talk about gear, clothing, riding in winter road conditions and emergencies. We’ll go through the basic philosophy, show how experienced riders deal with winter riding conditions and offer a variety of options for a safe and comfortable commute.
