PFC 2nd Annual Booze Cruise
Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 8:15 PM - Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 12:00 AM (EDT)
Please join us in our 2nd Annual PFC Booze Cruise on the Potomac this Tuesday night. If you were here last year, it was a really great night, and an amazing addition to Senior Week. Well, this year we somehow managed to get the same exact boat, despite the furniture being tossed overboard (you know who you are) and the alleged defecation of the D-Floor (who are you?)
Like last year, we will provide transportation from the Front Gates at 8:15pm (ashley) SHARP, and transportation back to Rhino following the cruise at around midnight. Theme is Prom, just go with it.
Tickets will be available for purchase tomorrow (Friday) afternoon, so make sure to get them quick because we only have a strict capacity limit.
This event is in conjunction with the Senior Class Fund
Seniors are asked to pay $65 ($60 for a ticket + a $5 donation to the senior class fun). All non-senior tickets are $60.
Buses will be at Epicurean, there is a Senior Class Fun event on the Esplanade starting at 7pm that we encourage everyone to go to as a pre-game for the booze cruise!
Party For A Cause
The mission of Party-For-A-Cause, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is to empower and encourage college students to participate in and create events that raise money and awareness for any charitable cause. Charities we have donated to in the past include The Bell School in Columbia Heights, Miriam's Kitchen, HoyaDreams, The Georgetown University Summer Fellows Scholarship Fund, The Dan Rigby Memorial Fund, The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis,The John Thompson III Foundation, The Haiti Relief Fund and Birthright Earth.
There are 17.9 million college students in the United States today. PFC recognizes that college students spend a significant amount of time and money hanging out with friends and going out to parties. PFC wants to redirect a portion of this money to charitable causes. College students, with a lack of “real-world” financial responsibilities, are an ideal, untapped market for charities to reach.
The PFC team works behind the scenes to orchestrate a carefree and memorable event for the attendees. Once the board identifies the Cause, we tackle the logistical and administrative aspects of planning the party. These include, but are not limited to: corresponding with charity, publicizing the event, and managing all fundraising transactions.
