Fresh Start Training for LiLI-D

Some of the databases in LiLI-D will be changing on January 1, 2009.  The Gale databases (but not including the 32 GVRL ebooks ICFL has purchased) will be replaced with:

 ProQuest Central: covers business (ABI/Inform), health and medicine, news, science, education, technology, humanities, social sciences, psychology, literature, law, and woman’s studies. (8,700 full-text periodical titles)
ProQuest Family Health: covers consumer health topics (355 full-text periodical titles)
ProQuest Heritage Quest: Genealogy and Local History Collections
Wilson Art Museum Image Gallery: a resource for art images and related multimedia gathered from collections around the world (155,000+ superior quality images with full bibliographic record)

The databases that were renewed are:

eLibrary Elementary (ProQuest)
eLibrary Curriculum Edition (ProQuest)
National Newspapers 27 (ProQuest)
Automobile Reference Center (Ebsco)
Book Collection: Non-fiction (Ebsco)
Book Index with Reviews (Ebsco)
32 GVRL ebooks purchased by ICFL (in 2007 & 2008)

Training will consist of a 3 ½ hour session in a computer lab.  The new database resources will be highlighted, with sufficient time allocated to introduce their basic functions and their value to your library users. Some time will be included for reviewing the six LILI-D resources that were renewed.
