Description:

The Bible is not one book. It is a collection of wisdom texts from may different eras. The Hebrew Bible, or Torah, is called in the Christian context the "Old Testament", or more appropriately the "First Testament." The second part in the Christian and Muslim context is called the "New Testament" and contains the story of the teachings and ministry of Jesus. Because of the many ways in which this collection has been misunderstood and used as a battering ram and not a wisdom text, many have discarded any deeper understanding of the book.

This misunderstanding is deeply unfortunate, and for anyone preparing for ministry of any kind it represents an area in which the mythic sub text of much of the world is not understood. This class will look at what the book is and what it is not, give you tools to delve into the deeper secrets contained within the wisdom text, and help you to understand the public and religious health codes, letters of many seekers and apocryphal books.

We will be referring to the following books:

Required Text (please purchase before class):
Thirty Days To Understanding the Bible in 15 Minutes A Day"
Max Anders- Thomas Nelson Publishers

Optional (Recommended)Texts:
The Complete Gospels-
