Event Details

Professional artists and arts organizations in the Edmonton area are invited to a free Resource Material and Documentation Workshop.

The documentation and resource material workshop is a basic review of options available for the documentation, archiving and preparation of support materials by artists ad arts organizations.

The one-day workshop will be hosted by Ramin Eshraghi-Yazdi (Nur Films) and will review:

  • the importance of documentation and archiving
  • the strategies for documentation, archiving and support material preparation
  • technical approaches to documentation, archiving and support material preparation

The workshops are meant to build capacity within the Alberta arts community to provide better support materials, increase resources and contribute to the ongoing evolution of creative practice within the province through the archiving of documented works.

The workshops, though technically minded, will be geared towards the non-technical users.

The full-day workshop will be divided into 2 parts:

Morning Session (10AM - 12PM with a 15 minute break) - an in-depth overview of topics as listed above

Afternoon Session (1PM - 4PM) - geared towards some hands on practice with equipment, as well as one on one consultation of artist and/or arts organization needs in terms of documentation. There is limited space in the afternoon session.

Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be provided.
