WHAT: Macy’s first-ever food truck tour will feature Chef Nancy Silverton on board at the Santa Monica stop, cooking her signature recipes and dishing them out for free with a qualifying Santa Monica Food lot purchase! Yes, you heard that right!If delicious food and celebrity chefs weren’t enough to get you to “go-go”, visit the food truck tour when it rolls into your town. Fans that “like” Macy’s on Facebook (www.facebook/macys), or follow Macy’s on Twitter (@macys amd @macysevents) and the Macy’s Culinary Council on twitter (@CulinaryCouncil) and tweet using the hashtag #macyschefs will receive a special gift at each food truck stop, while supplies last.

            While the chef's dishes are free with purchase from a participating food truck vendor, guests can support a good cause by donating to Feeding America®, the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization. For every $1 donated, Feeding America can help provide seven meals to those in need on behalf of local food banks.

WHO:  Nancy Silverton is an award-winning pastry chef and the founder of La Brea Bakery and co-owner of Mozza in Los Angeles and Singapore. Her cookbooks, Nancy Silverton’s Pastries from the La Brea Bakery and Nancy Silverton’s Breads from the La Brea Bakery, were nominated for awards from Julia Child and the James Beard Foundation, respectively.Silverton’s eighth book, The Mozza Cookbook, was released in August 2011.
