Most companies have at least one horror story to tell about a Workers’ Compensation claim involving the back, shoulder or knee, where a pre-existing injury or weakness allegedly resulted in injury. Workers’ Compensation laws provide no protection or relief and these incidents are among the most expensive claims. These incidents often result in extended time off, surgery, rehabilitation and permanency settlements. The good news is that there are ways in which companies can avoid hiring their next Workers’ Compensation claim and contain costs.
