Please join fellow planners in the Southeast Section of the APAPA at our Annual Event!  This year, our destination and topic of discussion is the Central Delaware River Waterfront in Philadelphia. 

Sarah Thorp, Delaware River Waterfront Corporation’s Director of Planning, will present The Plan for Central Delaware.  The Plan uses urban design and economic development planning tools to make recommendations about how to reconnect the Delaware River Waterfront to existing Philadelphia neighborhoods and corridors.

The final plan is expected to be released in October, where Ms. Thorp will describe the challenges related to developing and implementing a complex master-planning project, and explain the short and long-term projects occurring along the waterfront.

We are bringing this exciting event to you at a wonderful waterfront venue -  Yards Brewery!  Yards began “brewing and bottling in the City of Brotherly Love,” in 1994, and opened its current location in 2008 along Delaware Avenue, which includes its 100% wind-powered brewery production space and tasting room. 

Your admission cost includes a tour of the Brewery, 2 drink tickets for on-tap Yards beer or Pennsylvania wine, heavy hors d’oeuvres from Diverse Catering & Event Design and mini whoopie pies from Flying Monkey Bakery at Reading Terminal Market – yum!

Yards Brewery is located on the corner of Delaware Avenue and Poplar Street, 3 blocks north of Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia.  Their address is 901 N. Delaware Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19123.

If possible, we encourage you to take SEPTA to Yards Brewery!  Only a 10 minutes walk separates you from the Spring Garden Stop on SETPA’s El (blue line) and Yards Brewery.

SEPTA Bus Routes 43 and 25 also travel along Delaware Avenue and have stops near Yards Brewery. 

Please use Google Maps to provide driving directions from your location.  While Yards Brewery does not have private parking; on-street parking is available in the vicinity of the Brewery.  Please read the parking signs carefully, as we are not responsible for parking tickets!
