Enhancing Teaching and Learning: Lessons from Social Psychology
Over the past 22 years, the Claremont Symposium on Applied Social Psychology has examined a broad range of topics crucial to our understanding of human relationships and the building of a healthy, diverse society. The 2009 Claremont Symposium will continue this tradition as we consider applications of social psychology to teaching and learning. This one-day conference, co-sponsored by Claremont Graduate University and Xavier University of Louisiana, will be held in Claremont, California on Saturday, March 28, 2009. The conference will consider questions such as: The conference will bring together psychological scientists and educators working in higher-education settings. The meeting will feature four keynote speakers, two panels addressing student and faculty development, poster presentations by audience members, and opportunities for in-depth discussion of strategies for applying speakers’ ideas to higher education.
