About the Faubourg Quartet
Based in New Orleans, the Faubourg Quartet was founded in 2008 by local classical musicians connected to the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. None of the Quartet are from NOLA originally, but they have each been accepted into its colorful culture with open arms, and they have found there is nowhere quite like it. The Quartet's mission is to bring all genres of music together in a celebration of community and culture, then represent New Orleans in collaboration with other cultures around the world. By working with other local musicians, and performing works by New Orleans composers, the Faubourg Quartet aims to bridge the gap between classical music and all other genres, including jazz and blues. In addition, the Quartet wants to give as much back to the community as they can by playing benefit concerts for organizations such as "Coats for Kids."
