Hi

With regret, we announce that, due to unforeseen circumstances, Ignite Music #2, which was set to take place on Monday 10th, has been cancelled.

We are looking to re-arrange this event for some time in February 2012, when we hope to see you there.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Best wishes.

Ignite Music #2

IGNITE MUSIC IS BACK. On 10th October at Concrete on Shoreditch High Street in the East End of London, Ignite Music returns for a 2nd glorious evening of Lightning Talks about that most ungraspable of topics, music, in all its splendid incarnations.

Music rattles around our heads and around our hearts. The reactions it triggers are unique to each of us, and in some of us it has come to matter considerably more than we can justify for something so ephemeral. We form wild and arbitrary opinions, and it's those crazy opinions that Ignite Music feeds on!

The 1st Ignite Music was magnificent. We had presentations on pirate radio, contemporary folk music, library music, apps as the new music delivery system, why failure matters to music and a whole host more. The programme is still being assembled for Ignite Music 2, though founders Rob Dix from Partisan PR and Toto Merch, and Craig Smith from the Scaremongers, The Ephemerals and Ignite London, will kick the evening off with 'Another 20 Things We'd Like To See Ignite Music Talks About', a cathartic expression of their own music geekery and a clear statement that they wouldn't ask anyone else to do what they wouldn't do themselves.

The Ignite format comprises a series of 5-minute Lightning Talks, each made up of 20 slides that auto-change every 15 seconds. It's a format to test the mettle of even the steeliest of presenters, and it comes with the maxim, 'Enlighten Us But Make It Quick'.

Please join us on the 10th October to witness another fantastic tranche of joyously arbitrary takes on how music works and why it matters.

And if you fancy airing your own opinions on the Ignite Music podium, we would be thrilled if you would submit a proposal: a short bio, a title and two or three paragraphs explaining what you want to talk about will do it! Just email rob@partisanpr.com

We can't wait!
