Event Details

SlutWalkDC is over, but the controversy isn’t, and we’re ready to take an infinitely smarter, more in-depth look at the Walks and the love-hate feelings behind them.

Join AAUW for Re:Action -- A Debate on SlutWalk as we chat with the organizers of SlutWalkDC, critics of the rally, and other voices in the women’s community. Then we’ll open up the floor for you to ask questions and voice your own opinions.

Who:

Holly Kearl – a published author on women’s issues and an expert on street harassment

Samantha Wright – the organizer of SlutWalkDC

Chai Shenoy – founder of Holla Back DC! and a critic of SlutWalk

Aiyi'nah "SimplyNay" Ford – The host of "The One Mic Stand" radio show

Alexandra Petri – Washington Post blogger

Other panelist TBD

Where: AAUW, 16th and L Streets NW

When: Wednesday, August 17th 6 PM

What else: Adult beverages, yummy PinkBerry froyo, and light snacks. Also, win a free copy of Holly Kearl’s book on street harassment.

Don’t miss out on this chance to ask the organizers and the critics what they think, and give your own thoughts on SlutWalk and what it means as the women’s community moves forward.
