Please join the Houston Chapter of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) on Thursday, November 13 for our monthly meeting. This month's meeting will be co-hosted by the IPAA.

Matt Simmons will speak on The Impact of the Credit Crisis: Examining Its Impact on Prices and the Outlook for the Future

REGISTRATION: You are encouraged to RSVP via the on-line system at http://iaeehoustonsept2008.eventbrite.com/--using the electronic system expedites your security screening at the Federal Reserve. You may pre-pay for your registration with a credit card, or you may indicate that you will pay via cash or check at the door. If you are registering or purchasing tickets for your colleagues, please provide the name of each person in your party to expedite entry through security. Registration closes 24 hours in advance of the meeting.

LOCATION: The meeting will take place at the Federal Reserve Bank located at 1801 Allen Parkway in Houston, TX. The talk will be followed by a brief Q&A session.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

MATTHEW R. SIMMONS is the chairman of the specialized energy investment banking firm Simmons & Company International and the author of the Wall Street Journal bestselling book, Twilight in the Desert: The Coming Saudi Oil Shock and the World Economy. He graduated cum laude from the University of Utah and received his MBA with Distinction from Harvard, where he served as a Research Associate and was a Doctoral Candidate. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, The Atlantic Council of the United States, and the National Petroleum Council. He serves on the Board of Directors of Brown-Forman Corporation, Houston Technology Center, and the Center for Houston's Future. Mr. Simmons is also on the Board of Visitors for the University of Texas' MD Anderson Cancer Center Foundation and a trustee of the Bermuda Institute for Ocean Studies.
