The Academy administers the POST Entry-level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB).  The PELLETB is a timed, 2-1/2 hour written test consisting of multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions designed to measure reading and writing ability.  The Academy does not administer the essay portion of the PELLETB.

The Academy requires a T-score of 48 or higher in order to gain entry into its Basic Police Academy and its Modular Format (BAM) Level I course.  This entrance exam is not required, however, for the BAM Level III course (entry level of the Modular format).
