The Tuesday session provides the content needed for the NM Sampling Technician I or II exam, and is suitable for operators looking for a review of sampling and regulations topics. Course content includes material from the NM Water Sampling Certification Study Guide, available for download from the New Mexico Rural Water Association website, www.nmrwa.org/training.php or from the NMED website, www.nmenv.state.nm.us/swqb/fot/index.html.
Wednesday and Thursday are suitable for operators who want an introduction to or review of the basics of wastewater treatment. Thursday afternoon will be devoted to an explanation of the activated sludge wastewater treatment process as it relates to the Artesia facility. The introductory explanation will be followed by a tour of the facility in conjunction with more in-depth discussion of each unit process. Copies of the NM wastewater operator certification study guides are available for download from www.nmrwa.org/training.php or from www.nmenv.state.nm.us/swqb/fot/index.html.
The training presentations are available for download from http://www.nmrwa.org/trsources.php.
