CrossFit Ottawa is pleased to present The Gas Hut's - Advanced Strength Training Course - Module 1.
During this course you will learn the process of applying the essential barbell lifts within an advanced strength and conditioning program. You will learn how to modulate and scale lifts within the CrossFit program and ways to build superior levels of strength and conditioning. Build confidence in your own ability to perform the advanced barbell lifts within a structured strength and conditioning program. All concepts discussed and instructed are practical concepts proven and used within daily clinical programs.
Itinerary - Module 1:
Saturday:
09:00 - 09:45 (Lesson: Consistency vs. Variation)
10:00 - 10:45 (Practical: Performing the Back Squat)
11:00 - 11:45 (Practical: Performing the Front Squat)
11:45 - 12:45 (LUNCH)
13:00 - 13:45 (Practical: Performing the Deadlift)
14:00 - 14:45 (Practical: Performing the Snatch)
15:00 - 16:00 (Practical: Performing the Shoulder Press & Push Press)
Sunday:
09:00 - 09:45 (Lesson: Scaling Load, Frequency and Volume)
10:00 - 10:45 (Practical: Performing the Bench Press)
11:00 - 11:45 (Practical: Performing the Clean and Jerk)
11:45 - 12:45 (LUNCH)
13:00 - 13:45 (Test: Written)
14:00 - 16:00 (Test: Superman Total)
Written Test: The written test will include aspects from each classroom and practical lesson, are of a basic nature and are meant to ensure maximum information retention.
Pratical Test: The Superman Total involves the performance of 5 primary lifts. Each with 3 attempts at a max effort and with the intent of demonstrating maximum lesson retention.
The test includes the following lifts:
Back Squat
Shoulder Press
Snatch
Clean & Jerk
Deadlift
Emphasis is on proper execution of the lift under load.
