Who doesn't love a big bowl of pasta with homemade tomato sauce? Or
perhaps spicy fresh tomato and red onion salsa on top of a quesadilla?
How about golden tomato ketchup on your sweet potato fries? Here at
Love Apple Farm, we love tomatoes just about any way you slice 'em, and
we won't accept "winter" as a reason to not get our fix.
This workshop will focus on a variety of methods of preserving your
hard-earned tomato crop, even if it does come from the farmer's market
and not your garden. A versatile fruit, tomatoes can be stored (if
prepared properly) for up to one year - just in time for next summers
glut! Canning safely is always a priority, and we will go over the
ways to ensure that your tomatoes will be eagerly awaiting you come
January.
We will cover the various different methods of preserving these
wonderful garden gems, preparing you to meet the season head-on with a
full arsenal of tips and tricks to make the most of your tomatoes.
