Please join us for a special fundraising concert and event to celebrate our return to performances and our new nonprofit status!  We'll be kicking off the 2011-2012 concert season with a special fundraising event at the beautiful Gallery 135 in the Park Blocks.

The evening will feature music by an 8-piece ensemble drawn from the full 14-piece PJCE, and brand-new compositions from Andrew Oliver, Dan Duval, Gus Slayton, Kevin Van Geem, and Bill Athens.

PSU Jazz Studies professor Darrell Grant will be the featured speaker and we'll have snacks courtesy of New Seasons Market and DiPrima Dolci Italian Bakery, beer from Ninkasi, and wine from Van Duzer Vinyards.

More information on the PJCE can be found at our website at http://www.pjce.org.  We are a 14-piece group which commissions and performs original works by its members and by other jazz composers in the Portland music community and beyond.

We hope you can join us on Sept. 24th!

Portland Jazz Composers' Ensemble

The Portland Jazz Composers’ Ensemble is a 14-piece group which commissions and performs original works by its members and by other jazz composers in the Portland music community and beyond.  It is our mission to operate a large musical ensemble, to commission and perform original works by members of the ensemble and by other jazz composers in the Portland music community and beyond, to act as a forum for the development and presentation of works for large ensemble by established and emerging jazz composers, and to engage and enrich community awareness and appreciation of contemporary music.
