NOTE: Student DOB must be on or before Aug.15th, 1997 to obtain your permit.

Students wishing to enroll in this class must get their permit from the DMV office at the corner of Shoup and E street in Idaho Falls on Februrary 22nd between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. It is highly recommended that you use this day to acquire the permit.  In the event you cannot make that day, then February 29th from 5:00 - 6:00 PM is available but  time is limited.

You will be given a receipt for the purchase of the drivers permit, this receipt  MUST be given to the instructor the first day of class.

 

To obtain the permit at the DMV office, the following will be needed:

  1. Certified Birth Certificate.
  2. Photo Identification - school activity card, yearbook, etc.
  3. Social Security Card.
  4. Completed Verification of Compliance-VOC form (per Idaho Code 49-303A). Click on the link, print, complete the top portion and ask your school counseling office to sign and seal.
  5. Photo Identification of Liability Signer. The person who will be signing as liability signer will need to prove identification in relationship to the student.
  6. Permit Fee - $21.50

 

The fee for District 91 driver's education is $150. This fee will be collected by the instructor with $75 due on first week of class and $75 due at half way point. Checks can be made out to School District 91. In the event you pay cash, the instructor will provide you with a receipt. Parents may make the payment on line at this link:  e-Funds for Schools. An account will need to be established and there is a nominal fee.

 

Date/time and locations for this session is listed. Typically,driving sessions during the school year hold classes on Tuesday's, Wednesday's, and Thursday's for ten weeks. The first week will include a Friday session. Drive times are arranged by the instructor and student. As prevouslly mentioned, the course lasts ten weeks.

 

When the section reaches 48 it will be closed. However there is an opportunity to be registered on the waiting list. Therefore, if someone drops from the class, the next individual will be picked up. In addition, if the waitlist reaches 21 students another section will be created.
