The Second Annual Michael Thompson Memorial Golf Tournament
Michael Thompson embodied the concept of "Think Global and Act Local". His care and compassion for others was continuously demonstrated by his service to local organizations that supported children, young adults and families.
The goal of this tournament is to raise funds to support the children of families that are experiencing difficult circumstances similar to those Mike and his family endured.
The vision of the organizers is that families with young children that have endured a tragedy affecting a parent would be touched by the generosity of others in honor of Michael, a man who was always committed to the well being of others. The recipients will be a families enduring cancer or other tragic illness or families who lost a parent in the line of serving others such as military, police, fire or other servant heroes.
This year the proceeds will be divided between the education fund established for Michael's four young children and The Trebotich Family.
Like Michael, Yuri Trebotich, is the father of four young children. Yuri has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Beyond being a father fighting cancer, Yuri shares many other similarities with Michael. He has been very active in his community supporting several youth and young children activities such as PAL Soccer and Swim Club. Yuri has also spent his career serving others by managing environmental health and safety issues for companies in the Bay Area.
Whether as a participant in the events, a volunteer on one of our several event committees or as a sponsor, we look forward to and appreciate greatly your support for this worthy cause.
