Event Details

We're at the precipice of the web app revolution.  Applications are switching from native code to web based, and HTML5 is the powerful platform that enables developers to create these native feeling applications and games.

The HTML5 Web App Hackathon is an event for developers to socialize, network, and learn.  During the hackathon, we'll cover the end to end process of developing an HTML5 application, publicizing with Chrome Webstore and finally monetizing with In-App Payments.

Specifically we'll be covering the following APIs:

  • Web Audio
  • Web Fonts
  • History
  • File System
  • Canvas
  • App Cache
  • Web Workers
  • Transitions
  • Chrome Web Store
  • In- App Payments

After the presentation, you'll have the opportunity to create teams and hack on something together or build on something that we'll provide.  At the end of they day, teams and individuals will present what they've created and we'll vote on the best app/game.  The winning team/individual will take home some awesome prize(s).

Below is the itinerary for the day:

11:45-12pm - Check-in
12-1:30pm - Lunch is served & Presentation
1:30-2pm - Pitches & Team organization
2-7pm - Hacking
7-8pm - Dinner is served & Finish hacking
