The Green Living Workshop covers the following topics, one per week:

Water  |  Energy  |  Waste  |  Chemicals  |  Transportation  |  Shopping & Food

We spend time each week learning about the problems related to each of the above topics on a global, national and local scale. Then with the help of the WorksBook, a comprehensive sustainability primer that all participants receive, we review ten related solutions.

There will be opportunities to receive sustainability tools to help participants carry out the solutions discussed during the workshop.

All participants who attend all 6 meetings and complete the Sustainability Survey will have their name entered into a raffle to win a personal, real-time, g-Meter, smart meter (a $499 value) and a 1-year free subscription to access their g-Meter account (a $131 value) donated by Energtech Experts.  The smart meter monitors the energy use in a home or business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from a consumer's personal computer or mobile device that has internet access.

There is free parking along Haverford Ave. and Temescal Canyon Road. If you park on Temescal, you can access Aldersgate Retreat Center via a staircase just east of Bowdoin St., along the east bound side of Temescal.  If you hit Sunset Blvd. you have gone too far.

The 6 week workshop is FREE to residents of Council Districts 5 & 11

Funding provided by LADWP through a grant from the US Dept of Energy
