Meg Collins began her government affairs career as a legislative aide to the late U.S. Senator Floyd Haskell, (D-CO). In this capacity, she began developing a specialty in energy, environmental and agricultural issues.

Since 2002, Ms. Collins has been responsible for the Colorado Livestock Association’s government and environmental affairs efforts. In this capacity, she has been successful in building support for regulations and legislation impacting the livestock industry, which reflects sound industry practices and achieves the state’s environmental protection goals. Ms. Collins currently serves as chair of the state’s Pollution Prevention Advisory Board, an advisory board to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Ms. Collins energy and environmental experience includes senior federal affairs positions in Washington, D.C. at Tenneco, Inc., a major natural gas pipeline; Union Pacific Resources; Shell Oil Company; Camp, Barsh, Bates and Tates, a prominent government affairs firm; and Hunton & Williams, a national law firm with a focus on environmental law. Her corporate responsibilities required her to serve in leadership positions with various trade associations, including the American Petroleum Institute, the Natural Gas Supply Association and the Chemical Manufacturers Association. In 1990, Collins was selected by the White House as Congressional Liaison for the Administration’s “Conference on Science and Economic Research Related to Global Change”.
