Inspired by Black Skin, White Masks, The Extraordinary Ordinary Lives of the Living is a provocative and controversial Hip Hop theatrical performance, starring one of Hip Hop’s rising stars, Gif, featuring Poetry, Spoken Word and political Hip Hop music.

In The Extraordinary Ordinary Lives of the Living, Gif takes the audience on a journey from being shuffled through the educational system by means of social promotion, through stints of illegal activity resulting in a criminal conviction, to chronic homelessness and joblessness.  Gif showcases the effects of lack of self-awareness, self-love and identity in black and impoverished communities delivering what promises to be an outspoken, emotional and entertaining performance.

In the spirit of groups such as N.W.A, Public Enemy, and artists such as Melly Mel and Nas; Gif continues the tradition of utilizing Hip hop music as both a voice of the often voiceless and ignored members of society, as well as a mechanism for change. Unafraid of going against the status quo, Gif challenges conventional thinking armed with dialogue and lyrics loaded with piercing social commentary and deep introspection.
