Event Details

Do you have large objects in your collection? Would you like to discuss issues regarding stewardship and interpretation of ‘big things’?  Find out more about the challenges and charm of working with large objects, and meet those who do it everyday!

 

This workshop will aim to develop participants’ confidence in working with large objects. The day will focus around the collections management and display policies of collections held at the National Museum of Flight compared and contrasted through presentations from other museums in the STICK network membership. Topics will include effective curation, storage, movement and sources and networks for further advice.

Who is this programme for?

Participants can be from any type of collecting organisation, however the course is aimed primarily at museum and gallery professionals in Scotland. Our aim is to support the development of curatorial confidence across Scotland and ensure good dialogue between the National Museums and the wider sector.

Cost

These events are provided free of charge. Participants will be required to meet their own travel and subsistence costs.
