Think you already know all you need to about government procurement?  Want to home your skills and take your knowledge further?  If so, join SMPS Wichita for our July program and a presentation by Ross Draney of the Heartland Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).  Mr. Draney is the new Director of Heartland PTAC’s new Wichita office and is tasked with helping local business pursue government procurement opportunities.  While some of our past SMPS lunch programs have focused on the basics of government procurement, this program will provide more detail for those who are already plugged into the process at any level.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Programs available to assist businesses with Government Contracting
  • Recent Changes made in Government Contracting
  • Current Opportunities for Architectural, Engineering & Construction firms

And if you’re just dipping your toes into the government procurement pool, don’t worry.  Mr. Draney is available for free, customized consultations through Heartland PTAC and can help you get started.  Don’t know what an SF330 is, or why you need to register with CCR?  See Ross after the presentation to learn more about Heartland PTAC and to set up a consultation.

Join on Thursday, July 28th at 11:00 AM at Larkspur…we hope to see you there!

About Ross Draney

Ross Draney is the Subcenter Director for the Wichita Office of the Heartland Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).  Ross was born and raised in the Wichita Metro Area and earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Wichita State University.  Having spent nearly ten years working as the General Sales Manager for Weckworth Manufacturing, Inc.  where his responsibilities included overseeing the government sales and contracts management functions, Ross decided to join Heartland PTAC in opening the new Wichita Office in November 2010.   While at Weckworth, Ross saw firsthand the positive impact that government contracting can have on an organization.  He made the decision to leave the private sector when given the opportunity with PTAC to assist other companies in their pursuit of government contracts with the hope of helping them to experience similar successes.
