Event Details

This two-hour, roughly one-mile walk will explore what was once called “the foulest marsh and muddy flats to be found anywhere in Massachusetts.” We will visit this “landscape of change” that has been affected by Boston’s environmental, social and artistic evolution over the past two centuries. We will also examine the roles landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted envisioned for this 100-acre portion of the Emerald Necklace and how its roles and appearance have evolved since Olmsted’s day.
