Jon is a member of Accuvant's Assessment team, specializing in penetration testing, and enterprise level assessments. Accuvant is a leading national security consulting organization that designs and executes strategies to address its clients' complex information security challenges. Jon's role is to provide world class security consulting services to Accuvant clients while still providing technical leadership to the assessment team as a whole.
Jon has performed hundreds of penetration tests and enterprise assessments. However his experience includes, wireless assessments/penetration, threat analysis, application assessments (web & binary), ISO compliance, Visa/Mastercard PCI/SDP, HIPAA compliance, incidence response & forensics, physical security auditing, as well as network architecture design and review. His customers are the majority of the Fortune 500 with professional references such as Intel, T-Mobile, Sears, Federal Government, multiple banking institutions, and 4 of the 5 largest law firms in the world.
Prior to joining Accuvant Jon served as a member of IBM Internet Security System's X-Force Penetration Testing Team, spending 4.5 years as a senior consultant, then manager. At ISS, Jon was responsible for managing as well as engaging on multiple high visibility projects, at times having 4 to 5 other consultants reporting directly to him.
While a prominent figure in the information security world, Jon has been featured in multiple publications such as Information Security Magazine, the San Jose Mercury News, and has been interviewed for television by CNN, all on information security topics. A frequent contributor to industry conferences, Jon has also given presentations at Blackhat/Defcon, IEEE, ISSA, and Toorcon.
During his tenure at IBM-ISS, he was the highest billing consultant west of the Mississippi for 4 years running. Jon established many solutions and techniques around the PCI security practice at ISS, of which Jon was responsible for gaining PCI certification for the company of ISS.
