Adobe is our main feature this month. With the brand new Adobe CS5.5 Release at this years NAB show, there are a ton of new features and exciting benefits that directly correlate to After Effects, and how it integrates with other programs in the suite. Collaboration tools, better workflow management, and the idea of building one set of assets that can be used across a multitude of deliverables is one of the key notions of the CS5.5 suite of tools. Join us to learn how to take better advantage of your toolset, and why your going to want to upgrade to the latest version of Adobe’s Creative Suite.

Jim Tierney will be showing off Digital Anarchy‘s Beauty Box, their award winning plugin for doing skin retouching on video. This plugin for Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and Premiere Pro automatically identifies the skin tones and removes imperfections, while leaving important facial details sharp. Hair, eyes, and teeth remain sharp while just the skin areas are realistically smoothed over. Editors and artists no longer have to manually create masks or retouch frame by frame. The UI makes setting up Beauty Box a simple process that fits easily into your workflow. Beauty Box uses OpenGL and NVIDIA’s CUDA to speed things up so it can be easily setup and rendered. Jim will be showing a few sample projects and going over some tips and tricks for getting the most out of Beauty Box. He’ll show just how easy it is to make your clients and actors look 10 years younger, regardless of whether makeup was used in the shot or not.

Fred Lewis, a freelance digital artist, technical director and compositor, will be sharing a complex technique for keying difficult green-screen footage with fine edge detail, such as fine hair, and preserving absolutely all of the edge detail.

We will be announcing the winner of the SFMOGRAPH Logo contest who will receive a Cinema 4D RD12 Broadcast Edition. We will also be giving away two copies of CS5.5 Production Premium. Additional prizes given away, and who knows what else might make its way into the meet!

See you all there.
