On May 18th, at 5:30pm, please join us as we have two great speakers talking about Flex, their experiences, and some good conversation.  Beer and food are graciously being sponsored by New Toronto Group.

 

Chad Upton:

Topic - Introduction to Automated Flex Testing

Chad will be talking about automated testing for flex applications. He'll cover the basics on test driven development using Flexunit 4.

 

Bio

Chad Upton is a senior consultant at the New Toronto Group where he does Flex and Flash development and training. Chad also has a webby award winning blog, BrokenSecrets.com, where he writes about stuff that most people don’t know.

Romke de Haan:

Topic

Romke will be speaking about his work in Flex and some of the learnings he has obtained from building large Flex applications for brands and advertising agencies. He will show some examples of frameworks and architecture he has used on various Flex apps.

Bio

Romke de Haan is President of Spreenkler Creative, a Milwaukee-based interactive design and marketing agency that hires college students and recent graduates to provide them with real-world project experience.  De Haan joined the Spreenkler Creative team in August of 2010, bringing with him thought-leading technical and creative experience from the nation’s most dynamic agencies.  Most recently, de
Haan has worked as Technical Architect at Hanson Dodge Creative in Milwaukee and Senior Presentation Layer Developer at Razorfish in Chicago work on Flash Platform technologies.  As an alumnus of HomeBoyz Interactive, a program that works to reduce gang violence by preparing youth for information technology careers, de Haan was instilled with a passion for working with at-risk youth.  As President of Spreenkler Creative, de Haan is able to combine his valuable experience and his passion for working with youth to innovate and improve the Milwaukee region.
