Ron will be sharing his experience in the production of the book chronicling the work of over twenty photographers extraordinary saga of rescuing twenty dolphins from the Marine Life Oceanarium in Gulfport, Mississippi in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to their relocation to the Atlantis Resort Nassau, The Bahamas.

He will also discuss his opportunity to work directly in the production of the book with the author, Georgeanne Irvine and designer, Renee Esordi and traveling to Shenzhen, China to monitor the printing of the book.

Ron Garrison is a seasoned photographer with a career that spans more than 53 years. For 38 of those years, Garrison served as the San Diego Zoo's chief photographer and manager of photographic services. His renowned wildlife and nature photos have appeared in major national and international newspapers and magazines as well as coffee table and children's books, and on posters, note cards, calendars, CD's and numerous other items.

Garrison has traveled the globe documenting scientific and conservation field projects in places such as Australia, Sumatra, Russia, the People's Republic of China, Antarctica, the Arctic and Africa. Although he is retired from the Zoo, Ron works as a freelance photographer on select projects. He also gives lectures about photography and travel, judges photographic competitions, and teaches photography workshops and seminars in Southern California.
