Our Instructors

Neil van Niekerk

I'm a photographer based in Wayne, NJ, specializing in portrait, wedding and boudoir photography. I also maintain an active website for photographers, Tangents. I teach workshops and seminars on photography. I have written two books on flash photography, of which the first has been translated into Polish and Portuguese.

I'm originally from South Africa where I worked as a TV Broadcast Engineer. Then in 2000, my wife and I decided to settle in the USA with our daughter - and I have pursued photography here as a full time career since.

What drives me as a photographer:
That I love photography for a variety of reasons. The stimulation and excitement of responding to new situations satisfies both my analytical and creative sides, and I also truly love working with people. I get real pleasure from sharing the happiness with the people that I photograph, and knowing that I'm creating images that will evoke wonderful memories for a lifetime.

Ernie Tramposch

The key to great photography is thinking outside the box. Portrait and wedding photography are no exceptions. The images should tell you a story with out the need for words. They should be natural, fun, romantic, emotional and even candid. My responsibility as a photographer is see, feel and understand these moments, add personality and artistic flair ultimately capturing the true feeling and personalities of my clients.

Come spend the day in the park and learn the secrets. Along with the other great photographers come have some fun and maybe even soak up some knowledge.

See you on June 13 2011.
