  •  Importance and benefits of EMRs - when and why to leave paper behind
  • EMR meaningful use & requirements – making sense of the rules
  • Implementation Issues of EMRs – critical success factors, potential pitfalls
  • Sustaining EMRs – training & tweaking

 Speakers:

Harris R. Stutman, MD, Executive Director (Clinical Informatics, CMIO), MemorialCare Health System – Dr. Harris Stutman is the chief medical informatics officer at MemorialCare. In addition to EMR implementation and optimization, his major responsibilities at MemorialCare deal with clinical decision support, controlled clinical vocabularies and data analysis and reporting strategies, as well as leading their meaningful use initiatives.

John Yang, MD, Assistant Director Primary Care Services (Department of Family Medicine), Harbor MacArthur Medical Office – Dr. John Yang is a Family Medicine Physician in the Southern California Permanent Medical Group since 2001. He is the Assistant Director of Primary Care Services in Orange County and is the Physician Lead for the deployment, implementation and optimization of the EMR (EPIC/HealthConnect system).

 

Dina Ovando-Brown, RN, Executive Consultant, Southern California Permanente Medical Group  Dina Ovando-Brown is a Registered Nurse in the Southern California Permanent Medical Group since 2005. She is currently an Executive Consultant in Orange County and is the Administrative Lead for the optimization of the EMR (EPIC/HealthConnect system) in the Medical Offices.

Moderator:

JC Arzaga, MSHCA, is the Ambulatory EMR Implementation Lead at MemorialCare Heath System.
