Prima Festa presents A Celebration of Pasta, an Ultimate Pasta Culinary Experience.  The Celebration will take place on Sunday, April 19, 2009 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the Social Room of the First United Methodist Church located at 64 W. Chocolate Ave, Hershey, PA. 

Pasta Celebrants will be fully immersed in the process of making home made pasta the Old World way. This is a Hands-On, Hands-In, elbow deep in flour day. The Celebration will begin with our special guests making pasta dough by hand. Nonna and Mama didn’t use spoons. After the raw dough is made, Celebrants will continue their culinary journey by immersing themselves in the following hands-on stations:

Homemade pasta using hand crank pasta machines
To include making Traditional Linguini, Angel Hair pasta, Spinach Linguini and Tomato Basil Linguini

Specialty Pastas
To include making Bird’s Nest, Garganelli, Lasagna Noodles, Farfalle and Tagliatelle

Very Old World Method
Raw dough will be formed by rolling pins and hand cut with a hand held pasta cutter.

Chitarra
A Chitarra is a double sided, homemade pasta cutting instrument that looks like a small harp. It has 36 chords on one side and 72 on the other. Wide sheets of raw pasta are pressed down through the metal cords with a rolling pin. 

Gluten Free Pasta
Hands-on instruction for Gluten Free pasta will be held in a wheat free environment. Gluten Free flour, Rice flour and flour made from various nuts will be used.  These may also made with various gluten free vegetable flavorings.

Pasta Display
A dried pasta display will feature many forms and styles of pasta.

Traditional Pasta Sauce making demonstrations
Local Professional Chefs will give demonstrations for making Marinara, Tomato Basil, Alfredo, Garlic & Olive Oil sauces.  These will be given throughout the event.

Pasta Sampling
A selection of traditional and flavored pasta, with various sauces, will be served throughout the event.

The $64 registration fee includes expert hands-on instruction, printed recipe cards, Celebrants own made take-home pastas, take-out containers, pasta sauce making demonstrations, and drawings for door prizes and Gift Certificates. Every Celebrant will be rewarded with a personalized Prima Festa Pasta Celebration Certificate.

Event attendance size is limited and registration is required prior to the event.

Tickets to the event are transferable as long as Prima Festa is provided with the new contact information one week prior to the event. Unless it is an emergency, refunds will not be given within 30 days prior to the scheduled event. Prima Festa has the right to give credits toward other events in lieu of refunds.
