Our Guest is Gerald F. Uelmen...current Professor of Law at Santa Clara University School of Law...teaching Evidence, Criminal Procedure and Drug Abuse Law. Jerry founded and served as Executive Director of the California Commission on The Fair Administration of Justice ('01-'08). Having served as co-counsel for the defense in cases of People v. O.J. Simpson and People v. Christian Brando, in addition to arguing cases in the U.S. Supreme Count / CA Supreme Court and having been one of the founders of "California Catholic Lawyers Against the Death Penalty" (www.ccladp.org), we suspect he will have some very strong information for us to consider.
You won't want to miss this one! An author as well...he has penned "The Wizards' Guide to California Evidence" and co-authored two collections of legal humor. The 'hanging judge' of Orange County, who sent ten prisoners to death row, has called our death penalty a 'charade', and called upon Governor Brown to commute the death sentences of all 710 inmates on death row.
