Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (GMT+1000)
You may have heard of blogs and perhaps even read some on topics of interest. But now how do you start your own blog and how can they be used in the classroom?
This is a follow up, hands-on workshop, to Anne Mirtschin’s online presentation “Around the World NOW”.
In this workshop you will have a chance to -
• explore both teacher and student educational blogs from Australia and worldwide
• develop a deeper understanding of their purpose and how they can align with your school goals and student needs
• try different forms of blogging to see what you like
• register and begin your own blog.
The session is aimed to be practical in nature and will be fully supported with handouts, web links and ongoing advice.
(Designed for participants who are just starting out)
About the Presenter
I have been an educator in the Western Metropolitan Region for all my career, dating back to the 80s! I have taught many grade levels from Early Years to Midddle Years, and now experiencing being a mother of daugthers in Later Years. I have particularly enjoyed embedding ICT in my classroom and learning with my students :-)
I love being a teacher and now in my new role I love being an Ultranet Coach. In this role I am able to support schools in their preparation for the Ultranet. This has included working on raising the awareness of the potential of ICT for Teaching and Learning and supporting schools in developing eLearning plans. This year I am running an ICT Peer Coaching course for teachers and leaders wishing to create ICT professional learning models that are onsite, ongoing and in time.
