May 18th: Vision - Instilling an Effective Vision Throughout Your Firm

5:00 – 8:00 pm

Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver - Park Ballroom, 791 West Georgia Street

An organization needs both a good business case methodology (to help decide what to do) and a good project

After nearly 10 years of plummeting sales, Apple turned to its visionary founder for help, to engineer one of the most amazing turnarounds of the 20th century. Steve Jobs’ vision of a “computer the size of small boxes for the rest of us” sparked the PC revolution and made Apple a global brand.

As demonstrated by Apple’s resurgence, a vision must be fully understood by every employee at all levels of your organization. In this presentation, Mark discusses the characteristics of an effective vision and how to implement it to empower staff to collectively move towards a common goal.

Mark S. Blamey, MBA, P. Eng.

Mark joined Cobalt Engineering in 2007 to eventually lead the company as CEO by 2009. Prior to heading the organization spread across five offices, he managed a team of savvy mechanical engineers through significant projects including the award-winning Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia and the famous SALT Building at the Millennium Water development in Vancouver.
