Rambo Creator and NY Times Bestselling Author David Morrell Shares Lessons on Writing Life
Ever dreamed of writing a book? Your writing career need a recharge? This November, Houstonians will get new ammunition for their writing careers.
Rambo creator David Morrell will share his insights into writing and publishing on November 15, 2008 at the Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel near the Galleria, 5757 Westheimer. A renowned national speaker, Morrell’s lessons learned in the world of high-stakes writing and publishing promise to be of interest to both professional writers and those who have always dreamed of writing a novel.
While most people know him for the First Blood novel that brought Rambo to life, Morrell’s insights span a successful 36-year career in writing and publishing that have culminated in work with eighteen million copies in print in twenty-six languages.
Morrel holds a Ph.D. in American Literature from Penn State, but it’s his stories from the trenches that have already drawn huge interest from the Southeast Texas writing community.
The event, held at the Southwest Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America’s monthly luncheon, will begin at noon at a price of $19 for MWA members and $22 for non-members. The usual suspects from Murder by the Book will be on hand featuring Morrell’s work.
Despite the event’s mid-November date, the luncheon is already filling fast with 20 percent of available seating filled two months in advance. For more information, call Dylan Powell at 832.541.6497 or email Dylan@houstonwriter.com.
