Wednesday, September 17th - Public Session with IBM, at MIT media lab and Harvard Participants
Keynote: The IBM Center for Social Software: Demands on User Interfaces
Dr. Irene Greif, IBM Fellow and Director, Collaborative User Experience IBM Cambridge Research Center
Keynote: Frank Moss, Director MIT Media Laboratory
The user interfaces that people employ every day have remained relatively static for over three decades. This conference will bring together visionaries and practitioners from IBM, MIT, and the Cambridge area interested in exploring opportunities surrounding candidates for the next generation of user interfaces. It will emphasize designs for new interfaces that employ new hardware or new interaction techniques, new ideas for structuring the end-user experience, and new approaches to take advantage of these new and emerging technologies. In this one day workshop you will hear and see:
· Irene Grief, IBM Fellow, discuss Social Software and its Demand on Future UI’s
· Presentations by distinguished researchers and professors from the MIT Media Lab, MIT Sloan, and Harvard.
· Frank Moss, Director MIT Media lab, provide a keynote on Future User Interfaces
· IBM technology experts discussing 3d UI’s, Gesture interfaces, Augmented reality, haptics, and other technology as emerging future UI/s
