Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM (ET)
You can't stop a winter storm. You can't predict a house fire. You can't control a thunderstorm. But you can be ready.
Disaster can strike quickly and without warning. It can force you to evacuate your home, neighborhood, workplace or school or can confine you to your residence. What would you do if basic services – water, gas, electricity or telephones – were cut off? Local officials and relief workers will be on the scene after a disaster, but they cannot reach everyone right away. The best way to make you and your family safer is to be prepared before disaster strikes. September is National Preparedness Month 2008. The Red Cross encourages you to enhance your personal and community preparedness by attending this 1-hour "Be Red Cross Ready" presentation.
Stop by on your way home from work or gather the family for an informative safety program. Light refreshments will be served.
