Chris Burdge bWest Interactive
Social media tools like blogs, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn have been around for years, but companies are just starting to understand and tap into their value as a cost-effective way to connect with their customers and grow their business financially.
Chris Burdge first got involved with online marketing in 1993, just prior to the launch of Netscape (Mozilla) the world’s first web browser.
Since that time Chris has been leveraging Internet based communications to build brands and move products for fortune 1,000 companies such as BMW Japan, HP, Kia, Nestle Purina, as well as smaller BC based businesses like AbeBooks, Planet Organic Market and Aviawest.
In 2009 Chris founded bWEST Interactive, a new type of social media consulting firm, focused on helping companies grow their businesses by integrating social media with their overall communications plan.
A "Social Media Specialist", according to Klout, in 2010 Chris co-founded Social Media Camp, British Columbia's first conference dedicated to the exploration and sharing of ideas and insights around social media. The conference included 40 world-class speakers and attracted more than 500 attendees.
Prior to starting bWEST, Chris lead interactive marketing strategy at Suburbia Advertising, AbeBooks, Publicis and Cove-Ito Advertising in Tokyo, Japan.
