Cub Scout Fall Recruitment
The goal of the Del-Mi District is to have the best Cub Scout Fall Recruitment campaign in our history. To ensure our success, volunteers and staff at all levels will work together to promote and execute a well-coordinated plan. This begins with setting a date now (April or early May) for your sign-up night and parent orientation night in the fall.
Instead of assigning communities recruitment dates this year, we are asking that units select a night that is convenient for their leaders and the families from the school that they serve. We ask that units select a Monday to Thursday night between August 15 and September 8 for their initial sign up night. To best serve units, we will limit the number of sign up nights to six per night. You can determine availability using the information on the next page of the reservation process. If the unit desires, a parent orientation can be held 7 to 10 days following the sign up night.
| When choosing a date keep in mind other events that families from your school may need to attend like Meet the Teacher nights and School Open Houses. You'll want to ensure that the middle and high school nights don't conflict with the night that you are selecting as many families have more than one child. |
Before selecting a ticket using the form above, please make a reservation with your school or facility where you will be holding your sign up night. If possible, submit a reservation for the night you desire. You'll need to reserve two rooms
- Large room with tables to facilitate completing applications
- Room where pack volunteers can take the boys to play Cub Scout appropriate games or complete belt loops while parents are filling out paperwork
If you are unable to make a facility reservation, you can still tentatively request the date. Just indicate on the appropriate question on the following screen that the facility hasn't been reserved and confirmed.
Once your dates are set and confirmed, Del-Mi representatives can begin working with you to organize your fall recruiting campaign. Our goal is to have a district volunteer at each unit’s sign-up night to provide assistance and collect applications and fees. We will also have district volunteers available to attend parent orientation nights if requested by the pack. Please help us in meeting these goals by providing us with your dates now. We cannot assist you unless you provide us with your dates.
The Del- Mi District is available to help with:
- Communication with prospective members through grassroots marketing efforts.
- We are focusing on the character development that Scouting provides through association with adult role models, the excitement of the outdoors and participation in a program based on traditional family values.
- Communication with School Superintendents and Principals explaining what we are doing and what we are asking them to help us with.
- Evaluation of current pack needs and giving extra assistance to those with the most need.
- Training leaders how to prepare for the fall recruiting campaign.
- Training leaders how to successfully recruit youth members and adult leaders.
- Providing the necessary recruiting materials to each pack in the District. Building excitement by offering an incentive item to each new youth member that joins in August or September.
